Passengers

We are a volunteer Not for Profit Registered Charity. AFNZ does not own any aircraft nor do we employ any pilots. We rely on pilots to donate their time and their aircraft to fly our passengers. AFNZ acts as a co-ordinator receiving requests for flights from Healthcare Professionals and then selecting a pilot who is already registered with AFNZ to fly the mission.

Our flights are not commercial flights nor are they regulated by the same rules as airline or charter flights.

AFNZ also co-ordinate with an Earth Angel – a Volunteer Driver, to meet the flight and drive the passengers to their medical appointment.

Waiver of Liability

We require all passengers to sign a Waiver of Liability before their flight. Any passenger aged under 18, will need to have their waiver signed by a parent, guardian or carer.

Because most aircraft used for a Angel Flight are a 4 seat aircraft there is a 95kg weight limit per passenger.

Light aircraft flying is generally a safe activity but there are risks in flying just like there are in road transport. Should you not be prepared to give up any and all of your rights to recover any losses for personal injury or death arising from your flight, however caused, you should travel by some other means.

Medical Clearance

AFNZ will need to request information from your Healthcare Professional to outline the medical need for your flight. They will also provide us with the advice that you can fly safely with your medical condition. All information will be kept strictly confidential by AFNZ.
